Second Chances (Book 2)
A RUTHLESS SEX TRAFFICKER named the Dragon is on the loose in rural Central Texas. Eighteen-year-old Maya just moved back in with her crusty rancher grandpa. She’s dealing with major culture shock and longing for her old life in fast-paced SoCal. When the two meet at a kegger on the river, Maya instantly falls for his charismatic charms and never makes it home. The sheriff knows the rancher’s reputation and suspects Maya returned to California. Even if she did, Grandpa wants another chance. He’s desperate to find her before it’s too late.
Nursing a bullet wound from his last case, Nick promises to track Maya down. He follows her trail down a sordid rabbit hole filled with drugs and human trafficking. The Dragon’s operation reaches across state lines and south of the border, where he sells young girls to the highest bidder. He already has an offer on Maya. With no help from the sheriff, Nick is forced to take the law into his own hands or Maya will never get a second chance.
Miller has done it again! ★★★★★
This second novel in the series was incredibly well-written, action-packed and heartfelt. I loved the additional details about the Nick Fischer line and the richness of description about his homeland. It only took a few days to read as I couldn’t put it down!

Last Rodeo (Book 3)
A COWBOY TURNS UP DEAD at the San Antonio rodeo. In his hands are a pistol and an empty snuff can filled with painkillers. Was it a cry for help—the young man was a wounded veteran—or was it murder? The ME rules suicide and the politically motivated DA is all too happy to file charges against Nick Fischer. His pistol was in the dead man’s hand. The move puts Nick on the wrong side of the law, opposite SAPD detective Diana Ochoa, his new girlfriend. But the cowboy’s estranged father thinks his son was murdered and hires Nick to find the killer.
The clues link the cowboy to a sleazy doctor operating a pill mill and an enforcer with shadowy ties to a Mexican drug cartel. When Nick exposes the operation, Diana’s six-year-old son turns up missing, and the only witness is found hanging from a river bridge. There’s a warning—drop the case or the boy dies. With no backup and time running out, Nick must face the cartel enforcer alone to save the boy and bring a killer to justice.
Clever & Riveting Storyline--Great addition to the series! ★★★★★
I was eager to get my hands on this third novel in the series! What a great addition to the series! Action-packed, cleverly composed, and heartfelt. Miller’s attention to detail in developing character ties and the intricacies of a crime occurring in a small town are unparalleled. I do hope this isn’t the “last” book for Miller. Would love to hear what crimes Fischer solves next!

A Time To Die (Book 4)
NICK FISCHER’S PAST COMES BACK TO HAUNT HIM when he finds himself the target of a cartel hitman seeking revenge for his brother’s death.
When Nick shot the ruthless killer who kidnapped his girlfriend’s six-year-old son, he thought the ordeal was over. He took a month off, put his relationship on hold, and tried to piece his life back together. But domestic bliss eludes him when a sniper bullet nearly takes his life. It seems the kidnapper had a brother who was a hitman for the Gulf Cartel. Now he’s on a mission to avenge his brother’s death and under orders to send a message—don’t interfere with cartel business.
Nick gets the message and sends one of his own. He tracks down the hitman’s boss living in rural Central Texas. He’s running drugs and young girls from his ranch, posing as a wealthy cowboy and endearing himself to the locals with construction projects and free use of his private rodeo arena.
When Nick kicks the hornet’s nest, no one around him is safe. The cartel hits back with a bomb aimed at his SAPD girlfriend that barely misses her and her young son. When Nick retreats to his ranch to protect his friends and family, paid informants inside SAPD and DEA pinpoint his location. They snatch Nick and take him to an isolated patch of South Texas brush country, tie him to a fence, and leave him to die in the scorching South Texas heat. Nick knows they won’t stop until everyone dear to him is dead. He can’t let that happen. Pushed to the limit, Nick will need his military training and a little help from beyond the grave if he is to survive.
Masterful Writing--Gripping Action -Adventure by Miller ★★★★★
I was eager to get my hands on another Nick Fischer novel and this one did not disappoint! The story line was gripping as once again Miller seamlessly weaves together action sequences with beautifully descriptive backstory of the Fischer family in the backdrop of Texas hill country. I'll be anxiously awaiting the next Fischer adventure!
